I believe that a garden is a person’s sanctuary - the place where we are one with nature, a place that relaxes as well as stimulates our senses. Being a landscape designer lets me create such a space. My interest in architecture and landscape design started from when I was a young girl. My family travelled every summer to different parts of India to visit palaces, museums, gardens and villages. I was fascinated by what I saw and developed an interest in architecture. I  graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor degree in Architecture and ranked 8th in the entire state.

My interest in overall site design and sustainable architecture led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Melbourne, Australia. It's really since this time that I began to understand that a designed landscape is in response to the conversation with the land rather than a superimposition. I try my best to use this design philosophy in my work here in the San Francisco bay area. I have worked with experienced architects and landscape architects in India, Australia and here in the United States. I work as a freelance landscape designer and landscape design consultant for Stringham Design landscape architects. I have worked on a number of projects in the bay area right from design conceptualization up until project completion. I approach all my projects with the same enthusiasm however small they might be. I enjoy meeting new clients and designing a garden that they will be able to love and enjoy for many years.

When I’m not working, I like to hike, swim, cook and read.
